May 14, 2015

On May 30, Jubilee Chamber Orchestra will hold a concert at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Manhattan, New York City.

Following the message in the Book of Isaiah, chapter 40, the concert themed "Comfort My People" will be a healing concert, refreshing tired souls in the midst of busy schedules through classical music.

The concert will be a place where people can be touched through the beauty of music that God has given, and give rest to the weary soul.

The Jubilee Chamber Orchestra concert will also open the stage for those who have little to no knowledge or interest in classical music to help them become more familiar and better enjoy the music.

Music-wise, the concert program will contain a mixture of late baroque-early classical, such as CPE Back, Sammartini, Durante, and some early Haydn. The songs are prepared through music by Christian composers with strings and harpsichord. Mezzo-soprano singer Juli Borst will also participate in the concert.

Concert Director Dr. Gwendolyn Toth, is one of only a few American conductors of historical performance ensambles and orchestras. She has won prizes in the Magnum Opus Harpsichord competition and in American Guild of Organist competitions. Toth also holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in performance from Yale University.

The concert will take place at 5 p.m. on May 30, 2015, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, located at 122 E 88th St, New York, NY 10128.
